Both of the series are different and shouldn't be compared with. Space
1999 was the TV version of 2001 Space Odyssey & UFO was the Mission
Impossible.
1999 was more "realistic" in being that it had possibilities (I've an
newspaper article even stating of putting a moonbase to collect trash,
etc...). The Eagle transporters have been discussed about on a flight
simulator site inwhich transforms FS into an moon environment w/ bases.
As far as being the viewer. I love'em both equally (except Year 2 of
1999-I think most 1999 fans have a bitter taste of #2).
