Greetings:
--begin paste-- * Hey, Mark Bradley plays 3-D chess (like Spock and Kirk in "Star Trek"). Does anyone know whether this game really excist? --end paste-- Don't know if you can still get it--but I remember it available in the Sears catalog in the late 60's, early 70's, so yes, it does exist. At the very least - check some on-line Trek merchandize sites - it's part of
the TOS legend, it may still be available - Pam (PS I saw one for sale at a con in Boston 9 yrs ago.....) ---------- >From: Frederick Paul Kiesche III <[hidden email]> >To: [hidden email] >Subject: [SHADO] 3D Chess in Computer Affair >Date: Tue, Jan 30, 2001, 10:22 AM > >Greetings: > >--begin paste-- > >* Hey, Mark Bradley plays 3-D chess (like Spock and >Kirk in "Star >Trek"). There is a Star Trek 3D Chess set made by Franklin Mint and until recently
was the subject of legal action because Franklin had the same rules to play the game that a ST fan wrote and posted on the internet years ago (I think I have this story right) Is the set similar in layout to the Star Trek version. I remember the chess set too but it's fuzzy in my mind. Anyone out there point me to a jpeg of it? >At the very least - check some on-line Trek merchandize sites - it's part of >the TOS legend, it may still be available - Pam (PS I saw one for sale at a >con in Boston 9 yrs ago.....) >---------- >> >>* Hey, Mark Bradley plays 3-D chess (like Spock and >>Kirk in "Star >>Trek"). Trek's board has staggered boards with "attack boards" at the corners, while UFO just has three boards on top of eachother - not staggered and with no attack boards. I saw a set like this in a store once, so I know they have been available. I have (SOMEWHERE) a sort of poster journal for Trek with the rules of that version on it. It's a poster of Kirk and Spock playing chess and has the rules and some other info on the back. No idea where this is now, though - I pilfered it from a friend long ago ;-) -- Y -- =+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+= Yuchtar zantai-Klaan | [hidden email] I am not a number!
