Hi all,

A&E's UFO DVD Set 2 is now available for pre-order from Amazon.com:

http://amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00007GZYE/

Still no sign of it at DeepDiscountDvd.com...

Marc:

As you pointed out, they have GA listed for the commentary on Identified --
which is an error for this box. But, didn't GA do another commentary --
Subsmash maybe? Or am I wrong?

No, Gerry just did the one commentary, for IDENTIFIED. It was Ed
Bishop who did the SUB-SMASH commentary.

OK - thanks. I thought I had read that they did one together. But most likely
it was a message stating that they had each done one -- separately. :)

I think it might have been better if they HAD done it together,
because then there would be an added energy of them playing off each
other. I think Jeff Smart had the same idea for the KILL STRAKER and
TIMELASH commentaries he recorded...

A & E has UFO set 2 on their website too

Joe Bacon
A & E has UFO set 2 on their Cult TV Shop page and they will
release it 30 days earlier than Amazon. I ordered set 2 from them
and i can't wait--it's been 30 years since I've seen any of these
episodes. A & E seems to have taken better care in the
production of the UFO DVDs compared to the Space 1999 DVDs.
At least we get some GOOD commentary tracks in the UFO set!

A & E's website is at www.aande.com/

I remember seeing UFO on KDKA channel 2 in Pittsburgh as a
kid. I remember they censored some of the scenes in Identified
and The Responsibility Seat. Another episode also had scenes
censored involving drug use.

I got the DVD volume set 1 and was amused to see Ellis
changing her clothes--that was censored by KDKA. I'm still
amazed at what the prudes were censroing back then.
Especially since All in the Family followed UFO on Saturday
nights...

I'm new to this list, and would like to send greetings
to fellow members. I've been a UFO fan for a number of
years, having my interest renewed when the Sci-Fi
Channel ran it again.

You mentioned Space:1999 DVDs. I was tracking the
prices on these for some time before purchasing them.
If I recall, the A&E shop was selling the set for
roughly $169 + shipping, and a search on Amazon netted
prices from roughly $123 and up. However, the local
Costco offered the set at half of what A&E did ($89.99
+ tax).

Does anyone know if Costco has a distribution deal
with A&E (as they've offered other A&E releases in the
past)? I'd love to get UFO on DVD, but would prefer to
purchase it at the lowest selling price.

Thank you.

Cass

I don't about Costco, but I do know that the cheapest
price I've seen for UFO DVD Set 1 is $42.53 at
www.DeepDiscountDvd.com. With free shipping!

I saw the Avengers VHS tapes at Costco two or three years ago at Costco, but
haven't seen anything else from A&E since then. With Costco, items aren't
necessarily available at all their locations.

A good bet is to go with http://deepdiscountdvd.com . It is hard to beat
the prices and the shipping is free. You can elect to go with 2 day shipping
or overnite at an additional charge.
