A Question of Locations of episode settings...

Hi All, Can anybody tell me if any of the original episodes took place in the
United States? I was curious if any of the stories had U.S. settings like in
New England area or did they all take place in England (When not in space or
on the Moon). Dave

Hi there,

No - none of the original 26 episodes as far as I can remember
took place mainly in the US. Mostly, they took place in
England as you suggest. There are some brief settings that
take place elsewhere (on Earth) though, for example there's
a UFO landing in Northern Canada and various sea locations
represented in Skydiver scenes.

I'm not sure if there are any scenes set in the US - do we see
Straker in the NASA spacecraft in The Man Who Came Back, before
lift off? That would be a US setting. Maybe some of the
meeting scenes in CCAOK - the one where the US representative
insists that the head of SHADO is an American? Did that take
place at a US location?

In Identified, Westbrook Electronics is set in Los Angeles. Straker sends
Freeman to ensure that the utronics equipment is shipped safely from LA to
England.

In CloseUp, the launch is done at a NASA facility, I don't remember if they
refer to it as Cape Kennedy as it would have been known at that time.

You have the UN meeting which would be New York in Confetti Check A-OK.
