Hi All,
Just curious, has anyone done a novelization of the UFO scripts? The two UFO novels looks like the scripts of the first few episodes were written or dramatized into prose form (correct me if I am wrong). Maybe someone can do the same for the rest of the episodes/scripts. Maybe even have A&E (owners of UFO rights?) allow it to be published. A&E just has the rights (for a limited time) to publish the DVDs in Region
1 -- nothing else. Carlton (AFAIK) owns all rights to UFO. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nelson S." <[hidden email]> To: <[hidden email]> Sent: Friday, November 08, 2002 2:56 PM Subject: [SHADO] Scripts into Novels? Shawn,
I have to agree. It's a neat item and all but right now, it's not tops on my purchase list. Also something that would really be cool would be a "S.H.A.D.O. Technical Manual." I don't know if one has ever been published or not but that would really be neat. Well, there was Angelo Finamore's SHADO Tech Manual -- some scans are on my site at: http://ufoseries.com/artofufo/ Also, Angelo was putting up an online version of it at: http://www.ufotv.it/ART.htm Marc |
Also I had the UFO Series Guide out on the web.
Angelo's is VERY cool, I have a copy. Marc, I wrote to Nick saying that I'm very interested in the script books and hope they continue them throughout the entire series. But the DVDs and my trip to the Con this year make it difficult to fork over the extra $$ for more UFO stuff until next year. Free would be good, though. I certainly won't complain about free. I have all of the scripts from your site and look at them often. Thanks for all your work on them! Marc,
Groovy. Oh BTW, if I get the capital together I'd love to get the script books as reference material and as an interesting piece to my sci-fi collection. Its just that it's not a top priority purchase right now. Tom Bryant Marc Martin wrote: > > >I have to agree. It's a neat item and all but right now, it's not > >tops on my purchase list. Marc, I am glad to see so much activity on the UFO site. I was interested in
a UFO Tech section. Angelo has the best tech manual I know of to date. As you know I have some 3D CGI versions of most of the main shado equipment including side arms. I would be will to provide images if someone else wanted to do the tech specs. I also have some new CGI Shado images of an advanced Skydiver and others. Let me know if anyone is interested. I do not have a web site to display them. Gordon. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

However, I think a SHADO Tech Manual would have to be accompanied by text. I'd want prose describing how the stuff actually works, functions etc. in the style of th Star Trek Tec h Manual. This immediately runs into problems. Pretty much all would have to be speculative. Many folks have a problem with this. Indeed some are severely anal about it :-) This was where the most complaints about Chris Drake's Boxtree book originated. So yes to a tech manual, but it might be a tricky exercise for the poor devil who had to set about the task. Dave. |
