A word about Blackstar Video in the UK

Keith Wilson-2
Just wanted to give you folks a recommendation for Blackstar Video in the
UK. I wish I had more reason to purchase videos from them, as they treat
their customers with great care, even us Yanks.

For instance, when I received my Stingray DVDs, I checked the invoice and
it said the Stingray set was GBP 53.99, but that my card was billed GBP
153.98 (a whopping GBP 99.99 overcharge). That explained the unexpected
$225.00 charge to my card.

I gave them a call yesterday and spoke to a very pleasant customer service
representative (of course, every time I call the UK it's pleasant, because
the English accent always puts me in a good mood. I doubt American accents
have the same effect on the British). She indicated that the billing
department was gone for the day, and they'd be in touch the next day or
Monday (this was Friday when I called).

To make a long story short, I've already been contacted (Saturday), they've
refunded my money, and credited my account a little something by way of
apology.

So my hat's off to Blackstar. And I highly recommend them to anyone in the
UK or US for buying DVDs.

Keith, I can also tell all the good things about amazon.co.uk.
I received the "Prisoner" DVD box with five DVDs, all in good
condition except the last one which didn't play on my player. I wrote
them about my problem and they told me to keep the box and sent me a
new box. Great service :-)

BTW, I saw that the STINGRAY box is priced GBP 47.99 at
amazon.co.uk (see:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000059RNA/o/qid=986807890/sr
=2-1/026-0575165-4278032 )

Add GBP 2.52 for delivery and GBP 0.43 for the item (see Dispatch
Information for North American) and you pay GBP 50.94 for the whole
box :-D

<looking out for Marc>
I mention this only because if someone wants to order the UFO DVDs in
the (hopefully near) future (and so I am again on-toppic :-))

So long, Keith!

Ah!
Since Stingray's on topic (more or less) that would be another fine project
for HSSS, non?
After the UFO themes, that is....

I think what the slightly inarticulate Québecoise ;-) means is
Harlington-Straker Sound Productions. It's a non-profit company that Marc
and I put together to publish music from Gerry Anderson / Barry Gray for
the series' that never had a commercial soundtrack release, at least until
either Fanderson or whoever is currently holding the rights to Gerry's
shows decides that a commercial release would be enough of a profit venture
to make it worthwhile. So far we've created unofficial soundtracks for UFO,
Thunderbirds (both the TV series and the two movies), Captain Scarlet / Joe
90 (that one has the soundtracks of both shows on one CD) and Journey to
the Far Side of the Sun (known as Doppelgänger outside of the U.S.). Future
plans do include UFO Volume 2, which will mostly be cover versions of the
main UFO theme, and possibly a soundtrack to Stingray, though Marc seems a
bit reticent to go into that one! ;-)

E-mail me privately for more info at [hidden email].

TVJohn: "So it's crows nailed to doors and threatening letters now, eh?"
Hamish: "And how do you know about that?"
TVJohn: "Isobel told me about the letter."
Hamish: "I'm just after telling Isobel!"
TVJohn: "She knew already. Rory told her. And the postman told
him. And Esme told Agnes about the crow on account of
her niece Kirsty hearing Vicky tell Cameron at the barn."
Hamish: "Ohhhhhonestly this place! Unbelievable!"
TVJohn: "I know, I know. You can't clean your ferret's cage out
here without it being on CNN."

Slightly inarticulate?!
<mumble, grumble, splutters>
Who's slightily inartuculated?!
(&?**&&??(#@@)

I beg to differ!
I'm totally inarticulated!
<pout>

See? Now! Who could have explained that better than this?!
<snort, grumble>

Then the Klingon piped in:

LOL! Sorry, Christian. HSSS = Harlington-Straker Sound Studio.
Anny had wanted ME to bring up that possible "publication" and so I
giggled when she got around to bringing it up herself - and none too
tactfully either.

Tactfully?!
Who's tawking about tactful?! See! A Klingon!
