I've just been watching "Kill Straker!" and "The Sound of Silence" and was
wondering why Straker felt compelled to kill Foster in the former episode when he simply could have just given him the "amnesia drug" to forget all about SHADO. Would Foster's latent urge to kill Straker have still been lying dormant even with this drug administration? Interesting question! Alex [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |
i have a reference on that......in the military we were told that we were trained to be above all our petty concerns and to serve and soldier no matter what we felt or who we were with.
part of straker/paul 's life carrier would have been living that, and they would have to fight it off to remain in full characture [i mean in a real life situation]. too much might have been wiped away from an amnesia drug. in my opinion anyway, i dont know what the writers did with that. good question though. jim --- On Tue, 2/1/11, Ed Top <[hidden email]> wrote: From: Ed Top <[hidden email]> Subject: [SHADO] AMNESIA DRUG ADMINISTRATION To: [hidden email] Date: Tuesday, February 1, 2011, 5:03 AM I've just been watching "Kill Straker!" and "The Sound of Silence" and was wondering why Straker felt compelled to kill Foster in the former episode when he simply could have just given him the "amnesia drug" to forget all about SHADO. It wouldn't have worked anyway. The drug only erased memories from the previous 24 hours. I think Straker said as much in "The Square Triangle" when he gave Cass & Whatshername their tea with the drug in it.

Yes, that's right. The drug would only have wiped out his short term memory and
not his experiences of the test flight and subsequent investigations. ________________________________ From: SimonG <[hidden email]> To: [hidden email] Sent: Wed, February 2, 2011 5:48:15 PM Subject: [SHADO] Re: AMNESIA DRUG ADMINISTRATION It wouldn't have worked anyway. Apart from ALL of that -- when I glance up and see the subject of this email
thread: AMNESIA DRUG ADMINISTRATION It jars me every time. It looks very official, a notice from some government office, probably to tell me I'm out of line about something or the other. i have been watching the show, the last episode i saw was the dalotek affair.
i noticed that the red shuttle to the moon, is a lot like the space plane launcher and spaceship one. also i noticed the stressful relationship you mentioned between henderson and straker, much more intense than i remembered. there is a paper model of the moon hopper i am going to build soon and will post pics. by the way, these ufo paper models are for free and i can post them here or send you copys of them for you to print out if anyone wants them. i push mold a lot of peices, but the pm's have paper parts in them and are complete. jim |
Oh, Please post the models! I am desperate for a UFO for the dashboard of my car ( sad eh!)and it would be great to have a go at making one! i am sure I am not the only person who l=would like to have a go!

eek!! ( excited shriek from Lightcudder!) A UFO shell from a plastic plate ( very clever!) I already have a UFO number plate on my car (LE05 UFO) two Harlington Straker Car Park passes ( which confuse the authorities) and a SHADO Logo above the tax disc.. Sad eh?

OMG! You have a Harlington Straker car park pass? That is so cool! Can I have
one? That would be brilliant and esoteric to only those in the know. Also; just thought. Used to dream up names for musical bands when I was a comedy script writer. I think Amnesia Drug Administration is an excellent name for a band. ________________________________ From: Lightcudder <[hidden email]> To: [hidden email] Sent: Thu, February 3, 2011 6:02:57 PM Subject: [SHADO] Re: AMNESIA DRUG ADMINISTRATION eek!! i saw a very good white on black straker portrait online last night when i search images for u.f.o.tv series. is that one?
hey, i give these models away ,....i do it for fun, if you pay the shipping, [at the most 5 bucks] i will just send it off. you can actaully have the shadow mobil, the sub and sub jet, sid, and the ufo and the intercepter too, i want to make them again in 1/2 scale for shelf space.let me know. but, these cannot stand direct sunlight, the hot glue melts, so if you make one, use elmer's or super glue for your dashboard. i wouldn't mind making one for you that is dashboard capable, lol. list what you want it to do, i can put some light and sound effects, even spinning on a small personal fan from the dollar tree. seriously........might as well get what you always wanted on this. jim jim --- On Thu, 2/3/11, Lightcudder <[hidden email]> wrote: From: Lightcudder <[hidden email]> Subject: [SHADO] Re: AMNESIA DRUG ADMINISTRATION To: [hidden email] Date: Thursday, February 3, 2011, 10:02 AM eek!! (guys all seem to like Gay Ellis.. I wonder why!!) Glad you like my 'Straker' pics - He is such a great face to draw . Moonbase is too time comsuming at the moment to attempt, although I have done it in the past. I have spent nearly seven hours on Sky One and it's only a third done and only A4 size... Marc might have one of the sketches of Moonbase on his site; the Meddings or Mike Trim versions --- In [hidden email], "." <aquaboi@...> wrote: > > hey! > those are really really good! > you tottaly captured straker's looks! > i liked all the other stuff too! > you know,.....since you asked, and since i didnt see one in your gallery,.......... > what i would really like, is a portrait of gay ellis's face maybe in purple, in moon base make up. > i was also thinking of making a moonbase paper model, but i cant find any pics of the studio model set for a complete image, i would settle for an accurate sketch to start my project with.[a very simple one] > thanks again, and i am really impressed with your works! > jim > --- On Thu, 2/3/11, Lightcudder <l.oatridge@...> wrote: > > > From: Lightcudder <l.oatridge@...> > Subject: [SHADO] Re: AMNESIA DRUG ADMINISTRATION > To: [hidden email] > Date: Thursday, February 3, 2011, 10:02 AM > > >  > > > > eek!! I don't think any of my pics are online.. only on my website right now, and I've only been drawing for about a year really! I will email you about UFO models and Moonbase sketches and Gay Ellis!! There are more people doing CGI of UFO than drawing, so I am pretty much out on a solitary limb here! (I'm old-fashioned!!)

Sounds like a great job. Where did you get your H / S car park pass from then? I
am not a huge fan of Thunderbirds, I liked the later series of Captain Scarlet, Joe 90 and Secret Service. ________________________________ From: Lightcudder <[hidden email]> To: [hidden email] Sent: Thu, February 3, 2011 6:56:58 PM Subject: [SHADO] Re: AMNESIA DRUG ADMINISTRATION http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/UFO-GERRY-ANDERSON-HARLINGTON-STRAKER-PATCH-NEW-/350276722918 Two passes actually :-) ( and I run a Hospital School.. so its quite appropriate!! .. H.S.).. I can't remember how much I paid for mine last year.. but they were very cheap really. I just now have to get the courage to stick a Fanderson SHADO sticker on the number plate. UFO is not as well-recognised as Thunderbirds though! I don't get many comments on the SHADO logo on the shirts I wear for work!! --- In [hidden email], Stevan Warburton <stevanbcool@...> wrote: > > OMG! You have a Harlington Straker car park pass?
