		Hi all,

More sad news... actress Adrienne Corri, who played Liz Newton in the UFO episode THE SQUARE TRIANGLE, has passed away at age 84: http://www.legacy.com/news/celebrity-deaths/notable-deaths/article/adrienne-corri-1931-2016 Marc |

I was wondering who today’s death would be. Sad. So many passings recently. Especially Adrienne Corri. Clockwork Orange, Dr Who, and UFO. Was she the actress who drove Gerry mad by wanting to understand what her motivation was for answering the phone?

Apparently she did Clockwork Orange after other actresses pulled out due to the humiliating rape scene. She was game for it and apparently told Kubrick "Now you get to see if I'm a natural red head." Sent from my iOS device

Although, in this photo, it does kind of look like she and the director might be discussing the telephone...

She may not be the actress but in an interview somewhere he talks about this matter of the phone. Wish I could remember which interview it was.

Yes, Gerry said something about an actor/actress wanting to know their motivation about a (red) telephone in the Fanderson UFO documentary.  I'm not sure if we ever figured out which series, which phone, and which actor/actress he was referring to.  Maybe we did and I've forgotten...

Also, I just watched that interview, and Gerry talks about the phone being red.  Not sure how many red phones are featured in UFO... there is a red phone on Skydiver, so maybe he was referring to Anouska Hempell... (pure conjecture, I don't even know if Gerry is talking about UFO in this interview)

My guess is it would have been one of the actresses in "Identified". That was the only episode of UFO he directed. From: pointy100 [via SHADO] <[hidden email]> To: Ron DeMedeiros <[hidden email]> Sent: Sunday, March 27, 2016 8:46 AM Subject: [SHADO] Re: Adrienne Corri dies at age 84

		Yes sad news.

She was a very vibrant and vocal lady by all accounts.Expelled from school, left RADA when she realized it had nothing left to teach her. If she was going to say anything,I fancy it may have been her or Patrick Mower who (quoting Ed Bishop) thought that acting in UFO was just being puppets without strings.Adrienne Corri certainly wouldn't have asked about any motivation answering a phone, red or otherwise. I'll never forget the kiss between her and Patrick Mower, where he brings the gun up to their lips as they meet.Provocative or what. |
