Hi All,
Just to let you know that the 2nd part of 'Standby for Action' is finally being shown on Sky Channel 158 tomorrow at 12:50am (I suppose technically on Tuesday...) Doubtless, as with part 1 it'll be repeated countless times over the next few weeks. Best to all :) Griff |

Hi Wendy,
Standby for Action is a two-part (eqch 60 min inc. breaks) TV program about - quote - "Looking back at the life and career of legendary producer Gerry Anderson." I am using Sky+ to record it - will probably put it onto DVD. The first episode covered all the early programs up to the Secret Service. Hopefully, the 2nd part will cover UFO in a big way. Hope this helps, Griff > > Griff: > > For those of us who only get BBC America, what is "Standby for Action"? > > Wendy > > > > ************************************** See what's new at > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] > |

The first part of Standby for Action! ran only 40 minutes without adds, and I am assuming that the second does. In part 2 UFO and Space 1999 are dealt with within 13 minutes and the rest covers his career up to the present.

Thanks for uploading the MP4 Marc. I didn't see any clips from Space
Precinct, did I blink and miss it or has Gerry disowned that show? --- In [hidden email], "Marc Martin" <marc@...> wrote: >> I've gotten one report that the UFO coverage in Part 2 is about > 5 minutes. Hi all,
Sometime in the past, I decided not to have UFO ringtones on my UFO website. As a result, one of the more common e-mails I get from fans is where can they find UFO ringtones? So I'm curious (knowing nothing about ringtones -- I barely even use my cellphone), is there a website I should direct people to for UFO ringtones? Do people here have UFO ringtones on their phones? Just curious, Marc |
For Verizon phones such as the Verizon LGVX 8300 and some others, you can email the mp3 file from Marc's site to the cell phone. e.g. if phone number is 555-555-5555, you would email the mp3 file to [hidden email], then save it as a ringtone.
With this technique, the only cost was receiving the message(25 cents). ----- Original Message ---- From: Marc Martin <[hidden email]> To: [hidden email] Sent: Tuesday, November 6, 2007 4:46:49 PM Subject: [SHADO] UFO Ringtones? Okay, amazingly enough, I have now seen the entirety of this show (although in less-than-perfect quality), and I don't think you can say that Gerry's opinion of a series had anything to do with whether or not it was covered. For example, Terrahawks gets a surprising amount of coverage, yet they then show Gerry saying that he didn't like the series! So obviously it was the producer who made the decisions about what was covered and what wasn't. As for UFO, it features some new interviews with Gerry, but he basically tells the same stories that he told in the Fanderson UFO documentary, and since its a short segment, it's really only a summary of what the show was about, the idea of heart transplant surgery giving him the idea that the Aliens were after organs, and the story about how the ratings fell which caused the cancellation of season 2. Add to this a few clips from UFO, and that was the entire UFO coverage. Basically, part 2 covered UFO for a bit, Space:1999 for a bit more, Terrahawks, and the New Captain Scarlet. Marc |

Simple, just load the UFO theme to your phone via a USB cable and then set
it as the ringtone, that way you can always look forward to your next call!! LOL [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |
I have the theme as my ringtone and SID alerts me of a voicemail or a
text message. Every time my phone rings I always get questions about it. It's a good introduction to discuss the show.
