Andrea Allan

Hi all,

Resurrecting a very old and obscure topic from years past...

There are various websites that list Andrea Allan's Moonbase operative's
character (as seen in THE SOUND OF SILENCE, THE CAT WITH TEN
LIVES, and THE MAN WHO CAME BACK) as being named "Carol Miller".

Now, there are no reference in the show for that name, and also
nothing in the end credits.  I had speculated years ago that maybe
this name was used in the original scripts.  However, I've recently
acquired copies of the scripts for these 3 episodes, and that name
doesn't show up there either.

So I'm left to conclude that this is fan-created name, and was
never used during the original production.

(and of course, the bigger news buried in there is that maybe
at some point in the future there will be more original UFO
scripts available for reading on my UFO website)

And of course it doesn't help that the IMDB puts in information that may
derive from fan sites and cannot be verified.

Like they say about computer programs, IMDB is only as smart as the people who update the site.

Re: Andrea Allan

Griff
Hi,

In "Flight Path", SID is asked to calculate the meaning of the results of a program forced on Roper by the aliens via the medic Dawson.

One of SID's quotes is along the lines of, "Data and figures from flight plan passed to aliens by Roper have been analysed, input information incorrect. Result Negative."

In Space 1999 during the episode, "Breakaway", when Commander Koenig asks the computer for a realistic outlook for 'their' survival prospects, the computer repeats your SID quote almost exactly.

Hope this helps,

Griff

PS. Glad to be back in the land of the living, I have been away 'being repaired' once again :)

They should put SID in charge! :o)

While on the subject of SID, did "he" ever respond with something like "insufficient information to compute course trajectory"?
I have a vague memory of something like that but honestly can't recall.

Cheers,
