Anyone Going to Eclectic 21?

Hi All,

I'm just curious... is anyone here planning to go the Eclectic 21
convention next week, which will have Ed Bishop, Mike Billington, and
Sylvia Anderson in attendance? It'd sure be nice to hear some
reports on what happened, see some photos, etc. Also, if you just
have a camera but no way to scan pictures in for the web, I recommend
that you find a local place that does Kodak "Picture CD" developing
-- they'll make you a CD with JPEGs of all your photos at the same
time they develop them. I did this at a local drugstore for my
"Century 21" photos, and I was very happy with the results.

And if you don't own a camera, buy a disposable one! :-)

Also, taking a video camera & filming stuff would also be very
helpful, since that's how the transcript of the Ed Bishop/Gabrielle
Drake interview from "Century 21" was done. And you don't even need
to concern yourself with the hassles of doing a transcription -- all
you need to do is copy & mail the tape, and I'm sure we can find a
volunteer to do the rest!

Although, I'm don't even know if there will be official interviews
with the guests, or they'll simply be mulling about...

Thanks in advance to anyone supplying any evidence that this con
actually took place! Too often these conventions take place, and we
hear *nothing* about what happened during them... :-(

Just to add to the mix, if you are going and to video panels etc. I would
be happy to send you/trade with you a set of my Main Mission 2000 videos as
a thank you.

Here are the details of the Main Mission videos along with some frame grabs
that Martin Willey just added to the page!

http://www.space1999.net/catacombs/images/cons/phil/videophil.html

The funniest grabs are the Jack Stauffer ones!

Just a little more video incentive from captphil.

PS, I also have a bunch of regular SF convention footage (SF writers like
George RR Martin, Harlan Ellison, Ursula K LeGuin, Timothy Zahn Nancy Kress
and Charles Sheffield etc)
btw My George RR Martin tapes are great, terrific lighting and sound and an
interesting discussion
AND some Babylon 5 convention footage including footage of Jerry Doyle,
Mira Furlan and Michael O'Hare BEFORE B5 went to series but after the pilot
movie was made!

Just because, I'm curious about the convention too!

: -)

I recommend the Kodak Photo CD also, I was a little crushed when my recent
Photos of ICON (Stony Brook NY) didn't get the CD option even though we
filled in the little box on the envelope (They didn't charge us and they
won't make the CD's from developed negatives for some reason). These were
pictures of the gorgeous captphil with that plain looking Virginia Hey from
Farscape!

I think i better just buy a scanner!

Oh, one last suggestion, not all of you like to lug or are able to lug a
video camera around a convention for days. If that is a problem a nice
little tape recorder near the guests or the room speakers is also a nice
little record of the event! Since I'm a little crazy about documenting
the conventions I go to I bring a Video Camera (with tripod), 35mm camera
and two mini tape recorders (One a stereo recorder).
