Hi all,
http://edstraker.net The newest issue is out, and we all are extremely happy to bring you a nice and rich mix this time: Our faithful Dr. Jackson help column, Alec Freeman's jumpsuits (and there is a caption contest! Everyone can participate!), as always art, photos, models, news and two wonderful articles about the late Ed Bishop and conventions including photos by people who knew him well in person. We also are delighted to publish a new line of slash webserials (this is under adult lock and anyone not into homoerotic stories please simply abstain!), which are utterly romantic, brimming with warmth and emotion, masterfully written to boot. Not all is topside yet, as a few authors and modellers sent their contributions in a bit late, so there will be more additions yet over the weekend. Have fun and enjoy! Cheers An |
Not that this has anything to do with The Herald, but I have completed my DVD collection and also have an LED HD 42" TV to watch all of it on now (I even spotted the wires on Skydiver).
Have watched my absolute favourite episode and spotted more bits of background fact which I love. The VD boxset is the Carlton version if anyone has it; (British version that is). --- On Sat, 4/2/11, An Delendir <[hidden email]> wrote: From: An Delendir <[hidden email]> Subject: [SHADO] April issue for The Ed Straker Herald online NOW!!! Stevan, Have you noticed the eyeliner on all the actors? That was the thing that stood out to me most, but then I always watch their eyes. It is lovely to be able to see everything so clearly though! *grin* Enjoy your set! Yours, Denise
Straker, somehow it's always about you.

Hi Denise
Have I noticed eyeliner on the actors? Is The Pope Catholic? God yes! What were they thinking? I didn't need HD TV to see that; I always knew. I could see it on terrestial transmissions and video. Sometimes the men had more eyeliner than Colnel Lake! There are many close-up shots of Straker; in Psychobombs I think it is in his car when he is with Clark, you can see it plain as day. He was a New Romantic, after all, it was supposed to be the 1980s --- On Sat, 4/2/11, Neesierie <[hidden email]> wrote: From: Neesierie <[hidden email]> Subject: [SHADO] Re: April issue for The Ed Straker Herald online NOW!!! Stevan,
When I saw the show on TV in the 70's, the reception was so poor that I never saw it. But it did manage to make his eyes stand out against all that fuzz, so it worked! *grin* If I remember correctly, it wasn't even very noticeable on the VHS tapes. But the DVDs show it loud and clear! You must have had a really good TV to pick it up before DVD. BTW, I still haven't noticed the wires on Skydiver. Where are they most noticeable? Hi Denise
Well, didn't have trouble looking for eyeliner on Straker or any other male character on various CRT screens. But yes! It is blantantly obvious to the untrained eye on HD tvs or just even ordinary DVDs and players (like what I own) that they have not only eyeliner but it is quite thick! With the wires on Skydiver I was pleased I saw them because I had never seen them on this programme and could not work out how it was done (part of the magic for me) so something was working here and all that £500 I spent on the tv was not going to waste Stevan --- On Mon, 4/4/11, Neesierie <[hidden email]> wrote: From: Neesierie <[hidden email]> Subject: [SHADO] Re: April issue for The Ed Straker Herald online NOW!!!
