Hi all,
For those of you who wanted to see the Gabrielle Drake "bares all" movie AU PAIR GIRLS, it's coming out on DVD in the USA at the end of this month: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00005TNFG/ This has already been available on DVD in the UK, has anyone bought this? Marc |
Yes! I bought it from Amazon.UK before Christmas. An astonishingly good movie, I'm not sure what impressed me more, the brilliance of the script or the wonder of the directing. At any rate it was a movie that kept me riveted to the screen. And what a soundtrack! Amazing! I'm still humming the main theme! Maybe I should have waited for the USA version and saved myself a couple of $$$'s I see their offering it for under $12.00! : - / Nah, that would have been denying myself of this wonder of film making, btw how many Oscars did it take home in 1974? I might have to go DVD player shopping so I can get the DVD of this and
compare it to the two tapes I have of the film to see if there is anything new I missed in the tapes. James<g> |

What makes you think I ever took it OUT of moderation? :-) By the way, I've seen a few messages from the USA expressing concern about paying for Paolo's UFO photos. As for exchange rate, a Euro is approximately the same as a US dollar, so 7.50 euros is about 7.50 US dollars. Also, when Paolo offered photos for sale a few years ago, I paid him by wiring money from my bank account to his bank account. This may sound difficult, but it's not, and was certainly easier & faster than dealing with International postal money orders! Marc |
What about putting packs of photos together - such as portraits, vehicles, behind the scenes etc. I'd certainly be interested in buying a portrait pack - as I do quite a bit of drawing. >From: Marc Martin <[hidden email]> >Reply-To: [hidden email] >To: [hidden email] >Subject: Re: [SHADO] Au Pair / Payment for Photos >Date: Fri, 18 Jan 2002 08:28:55 -0700 > > > >How was the acting? > > > >Marc you might have to put the list under moderation AGAIN! > >What makes you think I ever took it OUT of moderation? :-) > >By the way, I've seen a few messages from the USA expressing >concern about paying for Paolo's UFO photos. I will add some examples from the DVD to the files section. I was interested in the movie not only because of the XXX Miss Drake :-)) but also of the other cast like Geoffrey Bayldon (CATWEAZLE), Richard O'Sullivan (MAN ABOUT THE HOUSE, ROBIN'S NEST, DICK TURPIN) and Ferdy Mayne (DANCES OF THE VAMPIRE). And of course of the famous title song :-)) Christian |

Thanka for the info on the extras on the DVD of Au Pair Girls. I think
the extras might be nice since it seems the movie might be short 5 minutes. The BFI puts out a publication called The Monthly Film Bulletin. The October 1972 edition listed the running time of the film as being 86 minutes not 81 minutes. Now the difference could be a speeded up running time or it could be due to have a print that is slightly edited for TV or footage lost over the years to breaks and repairs of the the print. The video Marc and I have seems to run if I recall correctly about 84 minutes. I suspect if anything is missing it is the full uncut massage daydream<g> and this is what is cut on my tape. James K. |
