Hi all,
I see that the Bonham's auction is now over, and the results are in... NONE of the UFO sketches/paintings sold! I guess the seller's minimum allowable selling price was higher than anyone was willing to pay! The Doppelganger artwork did sell, however -- 3500 pounds for a collection of 9 drawings/paintings. Marc,
It's over? It just started about 2 and a half hours ago - you think they went through that many lots that quickly? I don't see anything on the website saying it's over - just updated prices on items that have sold so far. What makes you think it's over? I'm just assuming (perhaps incorrectly) that they went in order of lot numbers. And it looks like to me that they've gone through them all, with a few that didn't sell. But certainly I could be wrong. I wasn't there. :-) Marc |
It's been a few years since I went to a Bonhams auction. They
certainly don't hang about and yes they would go in Lot order. --- In [hidden email], "Marc Martin" <marc@...> wrote: > > > It's over? I wasn't there. :-) I just heard from someone who attended the auction, and they said that the UFO artwork definitely *did* sell. So I don't know why they aren't listed on the website. Also, it sounds like that "Captain Scarlet" pistol artwork may in fact be "UFO" pistol artwork, and Bonham's mislabelled it. Marc |

Some days ago I've been in touch with Bonhams. They actually told me they
would follow the Lot order and that the "auction speed" average would be 80-100 lots per hour! So it was generally less than one minute per lot. Fast.. teresa ----- Original Message ----- It's been a few years since I went to a Bonhams auction. Here's what Bohnams's website actually reports on the sale result page
(http://www.bonhams.com/cgi-bin/public.sh/pubweb/publicSite.r?sContinent=EUR&screen=ResultsXML&iSaleNo=13643) Lot 155 was sold at 4.200 GBP next sold lot listed is 160, which was sold at 240 GBP No mention to lots 156, 157, 158 and 159. Any clue? ----- Original Message ----- I just heard from someone who attended the auction, and they said that the UFO artwork definitely *did* sell.
