If the aliens are able to brainwash people so easily, it would have been
possible for them to brainwash all SHADO
staff to destroy the entire operations
of SHADO, and themselves. A touch of divide & conquer perhaps.

remember they did try that on some occasions foster and Collins spring to
mind.
and as in the truth of real hypnosis, some people are more susceptible then
others.
and if this doesn't convince you as to the truth..... remember this little
