CASTING STRAKER

How about Ray Liotta ("Goodfellas") as Straker? Problem is, in that film he looked stunningly like Jeffrey Hunter ("Christopher Pike" in STAR TREK's "The Cage/The Menagerie"). The resemblance is quite remarkable.

My second choice is Andy Garcia.

Much as I liked Bruce Greenwood's performance, it baffled me that they didn't get Ray Liotta to play Captain Pike in last summer's "Star Trek" movie.

While I like Ray Liotta as an actor, in my opinion he has a certain inherent slimyness (for lack of a better word), that renders him much better at playing bad guys, seedy characters, or used car salesmen.
