Hi Marc!
Hi All! This is Christian and finally I've got the time to join the episode discussions again. I saw that my last review was in April (!) this year, so it seems like I'm a little bit behind {:-] Anyway, my last one was A QUESTION OF PRIORITIES and this is CONFETTI CHECK A-O.K. which is also one of the episodes that shows something of the personal life of Ed Straker. And it's one of the few eps without a UFO. This ep wasn't dubbed into German (for all who don't know me from my previous postings: I am from Austria and in the German speaking countries only 17 of the 26 eps were shown). So let's see what I've noticed. * This is one of the few eps which hasn't got the usual title before the teaser (which doesn't bother at all in this case). * You can't get away with one cigar if you're the father of twins :-) Straker: "Twins? You owe me another cigar!" * Mary. The obviously most hated woman in the series by the members of this group. Although Mary isn't my coup of tea either, I've got no problems with the fact that Straker is in fond of, better: in love with her. If she is his type, so why not? I can live with that :-) * For the first time I noticed in the title the two points in A-O.K. * Mary is driving. Ed must have sung all the way long because they've noticed the sound of the cans very late. * Now Ladies? The just married Straker fooling around with his wife in the hotel room is it possible that some of you would like to have the role of Suzanne Neve :-) * For my taste there are very few questions to Straker in the meeting about the necessity and financing of such a big secret organisation. If I think of the conferences in my office about less important things . :-) * "I like it! I like it!" Straker says this about the picture Mary shows him. Hmm , first Mary and then this picture. I have my doubts about Strakers taste ;-) * When Straker arrives at the Astrophysical Commission one can see a woman passing the way of the car and looking after it. I wonder if she wasn't an extra and therefore was wondering what kind of car that was * Seems that the weakness of Straker is that he always forget to telephone his wife. * That's great! I've now noticed that too! When we see Freeman and Straker for the first time in this ep entering what becomes SHADO we hear the typical "SHADO theme". * When Mary is falling down the stairs, Straker first look at her, then opens the door and then take the receiver, yelling at her father, he shouldn't touch her. Shouldn't he get her in a more comfortable position in the first place? Just wondering. * When Mary arrives at the Hospital she doesn't look very pregnant at all. After all this flashback episode becomes better with repeated viewing, IMO. Hope this was of interest! CU Christian |
