If they were able to clone people, then why would they need to keep coming back to Earth for? Once they got a sufficent "base" for their cloning, they wouldn't need us anymore.
By the way, I always thought that it was a little weird that they could develop FTL space flight, and then put it into these tiny little ships that couldn't hold more then two or three people at a time.
But wait, maybe there is a "Mother Ship" out there somewhere that launches the UFOes a few at a time. That would explain the "Spark of light" that is all ways seen in the shots of the interceptors launches.
Why the mother ship didn't just launch everthing at us though, is a good question. Probibly because it would have ment the end of the series.
Just thinking outload, which can be a dangerious habit.
