Being new to this group this may have been covered before, but on
Close Up, I reckon Kelly sabotaged the Project Discovery probe
causing it not to transmit the data.
After Masters left the probe unattended for a pre-luna flight
medical,he had an opportunity to return and tamper with it.
It was ominous the way the camera moved in to the probe for a
close up shot.
Since Straker refused to allow him any more funds, causing the
malfunction achieved exactly what Kelly wanted - more funds.
I also thought it strange that a billion dollar project probe
was placed rather haphazardly on the desk. What if it rolled off?
Also,if I were General Henderson, I would have gone mental at the
loss of a billion dollar project.They must have caught him on one of
his better days.
Sadly the episode is unfinished as we don't find out what order the
coffee machines ended up in.
