Colonels Lake & Foster.

I believe that both were promoted to Colonel, after joining from being
civilians.

I did read somewhere in Foster`s `Biography`, that he was in the Royal Air
Force [as a pilot], as was Alec Freeman (albeit at different times &
branches).

Isn't it stated in "Exposed" that Foster was an airforce officer
before he became a test pilot?

In the scene where Jackson questions Foster and fills in his details on the
report he says Foster was a 'pilot' for 8 years and a test pilot for...I
can't remeber how long exactly, 2 years or something. But he doesn't say it
was with the RAF, although I always took it to mean that.
