Being new to UFO, a couple people have asked me what I have thought of
Commander Straker versus Commander Koenig.
After viewing nearly half of the UFO series (and still enjoying it!),
there is really no comparison between Straker and Koenig. It is like
comparing Apples to Oranges.
Straker was an appropriate commander for the situation of SHADO as
Koenig was an appropriate commander for Moonbase Alpha, after the Moon
was blow out of orbit. I think Straker might have been a good
commander pre-Breakaway on Alpha but not sure his style would have
allowed him to last much past Breakaway. On the other hand, Koenig was
good for Alpha but his style would not have been good for SHADO at all.
They really are not interchangeable as commanders. Again, different
show, different situations.
