Hi all,
Jeff Smart, the person who recorded the extra UFO commentaries on the A&E
UFO DVDs and also will someday release his video THE FUTURE IS FANTASTIC
video, was browsing our SHADO archives and had the following comments:

- the number of UFO paddles was indeed 16, a picture in a guide book of a
saucer with a missing paddle caused the mess. Derek Meddings told me it
probably fell off when the photo was taken as the paddles were only glued
on!
- You may have seen that Secret Service is now out on DVD, this has all
sorts of interesting (soon to be used in UFO) locations.
- Did you also know that the exterior building used in BBC'S "The Office"
is where Croxley got picked up from work in ESP ( it really is in Slough!).
- The UFO girls at the Cult TV con were actually professional dancers, there
to perform a dance routine on stage as part of a lifetime acheivement award
that was given to Sylvia Anderson. They opened the awards show with an
Avengers themed routine to music with Bowlers and Brollys, they then closed
the event in the UFO gear, strutting onto stage to a jazzed up UFO theme
accompanied by a tightly edited compilation of clips and behind the scenes
shots projected up behind them.-and it was amazing! Most of the males
present said "what video clips"! (The girls were a very big hit with the
crowd and consequently didnt have to buy their own drinks from then on!)
