Complete Book of UFO

Hi all,

I finally got my "Complete Book of UFO" yesterday! Very impressive!

Just glancing through it, it does appear (as I expected) to be
an expansion of Chris' UFO articles in Fanderson's FAB magazine
(The Making of UFO plus the Definitive UFO Episode Guide), plus
even more.

With the advertised 500 photos, I guess I was expecting to see
every UFO photo every shot :-), but surprisingly that's not
the case. The episode guide uses 8 small frame captures per
episode, so that's 208 pictures right there....

There are indeed some photos here that I've never seen before,
although in many cases they are just slightly different shots
of photos I have seen before. I do like however that most
of the publicity shots seem "uncropped" -- the film they used
produced square negatives, and a lot of these shots are
indeed square. I don't seem to have a problem with the printing
though, as others have mentioned here. Seems fine to me.

I was a bit surprised to see in the episode orders a "USA
Syndication Order", as our previous research on this subject
had shown that every US station seemed to show the episodes
in different orders. I then went and compared this order
with the information we have from 1972-3 US TV Guides from
various cities, and didn't see any episode order that
looked like what was printed here. Oh well.

The only part of the book I've read so far was the very end -- the
part about how the DVD's were made. Interesting seeing
the original film materials that were used in the digital
remastering.

Also, perhaps this book can FINALLY put to rest the various
speculation about Antonia Ellis working on HBO's "Sex and
the City" -- as it says in the book:

"Married to writer/actor Jerry Colker, Ellis left show
business in the early Eighties to raise their two
children, Julian and Kiki. She now donates much of her
time to the assistance of elderly people in the her
local community in Los Angeles".

But I'm sure there's all sorts of good information in this
book -- just gotta take some time and READ IT!

Anyone else have any more comments on this book?

Marc

I have just bought the book in question from the Middlesbrough branch of Waterstone's, and looked through it quickly. It's a bit disappointing that save for the covers, it's all in glorious black and white, but other than that it seems okay. I'll put it away as my Xmas prezzie to me!
