I can`t remember if Straker ever mentioned
that he didn`t like SHADO personnel being
married, as it would cause their own set of problems, & that he prefered
them to be married to the job. I had the funny feeling that Straker may
have said it!

Even if he didn`t, Straker's own marriage
break-up may have coloured his views about
personnel being married.

If I remember correctly Freeman has that line of thought in one of the
novels, but I don't think either of them actually says anything similar
in the series proper.
