Fanderson has an upcoming "one-day" event at Pinewood studios
called "HD21":

This is probably not what you had in mind, but I don't think
there are any plans for any future conventions with a significant
number of UFO-related guests.

Unless someone here wants to plan one? :-)

I wonder how a new Anderson related con would do here
in the USA? How many would attend one?

I went to one awhile back in NY...did anybody from
this group go?

---my message didn't come out the way I typed it!

Anyway, I was saying how much I missed the old 1999/Anderson shows
they used to have here in the USA. I actually bought an original
Shado operative outfit for about 40.00 at one show in the 80's.
Plus lots of stills and film clips and other great items!

The last Anderson related show I went to was one a few years back in
NY.

Since all the main actors are dead and Gerry himself is very old, I doubt
you could get anything going in the US.

Well, I think there are still enough stars/staff alive to hold a UFO convention.
People you could choose from include Gerry Anderson, Sylvia Anderson
(not both at the same con!), Wanda Ventham, Gabrielle Drake, Dolores
Mantez, Peter Gordeno, Antonia Ellis, Mike Trim (designer), Alan Shubrook
(models), Georgina Moon, Anouska Hempel, David Lane (director), Alan Perry
(director), Ken Turner (director). There are also people that I
just don't know one way or another if they are still alive or how
one would contact them (Keith Alexander? Gary Myers? Jon Kelly?
Jeremy Wilkin? Ayshea?).

But you're right -- the best time to have a UFO con was back in the
1970's and 1980's, when a lot more of the big names were still alive,
and people might actually remember working on the series.

And if you held a UFO convention today, would anyone come? I suspect
that if it was indeed a "UFO convention", and there were several guests
from the above list announced as attending, I'd go...

Maybe Fanderson should hold a "UFORIA 3" convention? :-)

Do any of these conventions provide for Q&A sessions over the net?

These days, with higher speed connections, it might work.

Of course the cost would be a problem because the hosting location would
need a huge screen (or go LAN party-style and everyone brings their own)
and a fairly big pipe. I don't see many people being willing to pay to
watch/contribute to it though.
