I have only just heard (via this group) of the sad death of both men.
A total shock as I was checking my 100 odd e-mails on Friday night.
I had not realised Michael Billington was fighting illness,while Ed Bishop looked very fit and healthy on photos from conventions he'd attended.
Its hard to believe.I did'nt know them,had never spoken to them,and yet I am certain that if I had they would have been
both charming and agreeable.
I of course like many others knew them as Straker and Foster in the parallel universe of UFO.
They both represent huge images in my imagination of my interest in that series,and for me those images will never fade.It is fortunate that we have them immortalised on a shiny disk, from a time when they were forever young.
I take it as a gratifying certainty that life is more than a transient passage through a meaningless universe, that they both died so co-incidentally.My respect and sympathies are extended to the families of both men.
