Denise's stories

gpietro

Denise,

It's been a long time since I read some UFO fanfiction. I was dedicated to
my other love (Starsky & Hutch). But then, recently, I went through my UFO
sites - even that's when I decided to join this group - and then started
looking for some stories to read.

First I was caught by "Time for Anny" and I must say I loved it. I'm glad Ed
could get some kind of happiness and love in his life.

And then now I'm caught by The Conover Saga. I remember I had saved some of
the stories in my computer, but now I'm completely trapped by the whole
series.

I like the idea about Ed, and some other characters, very original...LOL

Your writing is very easy reading, not something difficult to understand and
that's another reason to be reading one story after the other.

Hope Ed finds some love and peace too.

Thanks for sharing your stories.

Hugs,
Gia

Thanks! I love time travel stories, and that was my first. It is
also a tribute to my best beta-tester for UFO stories, Anny
Theberge. (Hi, Anny!) I have a sequel lined up for it that I hope
to someday get on paper that tells MaX's story (and you'll never
guess who he ends up with!) In the sequel there will be mention of
Anny & Ed's kids too. Should be fun.

This is the series that is keeping me from working on anything else.
I'm finishing up #19, but it's hard going because Straker nearly dies
in this one, so it's not easy to write. I know I've had him near
death before, but not like this. So sometimes I just have to walk
away from it. I need to get it done, so that I can wind up the
series with its bang of a finale in #20.

Considering that I majored in nuclear physics in college, I'm not big
on technology in my stories. I don't read sci-fi for the technology,
but for the ideas and the characters, so that's what I tend to focus
on when I write. And people being people, they're never too hard to
understand!

> Hope Ed finds some love and peace too.

It's funny you should say that, because one of the only critiques
I've gotten from the Conover Saga is that I've made Straker TOO
human! But perhaps those who find that odd never had a relationship
that changed their life like that. From watching the series, it's
easy to see that the only thing that will save Straker is to find him
a woman who can understand him and reinforce his humanity.

On a technical note: a few of the stories posted at the SHADO Library
have glitches in them that have deleted entire paragraphs of the
story. This is because they were downloaded from my old site which
is no longer active. For accurate versions of the stories, you may
wish to check my new site at: http://www.geocities.com/neesierie and
click on the UFO link. This site also has all of the series in order
and not mixed in with the other UFO stories I've written. I've had a
few confused readers ask where Sheila is when Ed gets back with his
exwife in "Full Circle." Um. . . guys? Same UFO, different
universe. Having the Saga separate keeps the confusion at a minimum.

Thanks for your kind comments about the stories. Feedback helps me
focus and keep plodding away, so I appreciate it very much!
Yours,
Denise
Straker, somehow it's always about you.

I still have some more stories to get to that point. But hope you get to
finish the series soon.

You know, I'm always looking for the right woman for my favorite character
in the TV series I like. The kind of "Mary Sue" stories. I want to see the
character happy.
And I wrote a series of stories myself (in Spanish, that's my tongue
language) where there's that special woman that can fit in every way with
Straker and they're really happy. Action and romance is the best combination
in fanfiction for my taste.
Though you're surprised that I like that "too human" Straker, what it really
caught me off guard was the alien idea...But I can adjust to that too...LOL

Thanks for this, but I've already found your new site, and I'm saving the
stories from that page. However I miss the other one where you had a picture
of the people/friends) you choose to be each character you created.

Thanks for your kind comments about the stories. Feedback helps me

Hope you get to the end of the series soon, and I'd really love to see the
sequel to Time for Anny.
Regards,
Gia

Is there a way to get them translated into English, so that those of
us fans with only "un poco Espanol" can read them?

Mine too!

Ha ha! He's just such a stuffed shirt that I always wondered what
would happen if he found out that he was ONE OF THEM!!!! *grin*
It's been so much fun to make him deal with a larger universe. And I
think it's humbled him a bit too!

I don't know of an easy way, Denise. Maybe I should start translating them,
but that would take forever. Can't assure you anything.

WOW, now I'm reading each part of the series, saying well who's next
discovering the true???
And you really started a chain of marriages and babies to fill their world.
I'm really enjoying all this.

Gia

Hmmm . . .
I have a son who recently returned from two years in Spain. Perhaps
if you have a website where they are on file, I could print them out
and have him read them to me. I'd love to see your work.

Ah! But as Laura asks him in the first story, "What IS truth?" Stay
tuned until the 20th story for more details!

I originally planned on doing a Next Gen series of UFO stories that
meets back up with all their kids in about 25 years or so. But now
I'm not so sure I want to commit myself to another long series. But
since I've set things up for a few of the characters already, I may
do one or two of them. But that's down the road a ways. So glad
you're enjoying the Saga. It's been a great joy to me to write!

I'm flattered here...Someone else wanting to read my stories??? When I
first started writing them I didn't know about this beautiful world of
internet and all the groups about different fandoms. It's really great to
meet more people that share one's craziness for tv series or movies from a
long time ago.
Well, about my stories, I don't have a UFO webpage, but I could e-mail you
the Word files if it's the same.

I'm sure am attached to the series. I'm in chapter 13 now, and I'm really
loving this.

Well, not a bad idea, but I understand that it could be difficult even for
you to not have our main characters as we know them, right? Anyway, if you
do write something about this, I'm interested in reading it.
Yours,
Gia

That would be awesome. I appreciate it very much. My e-mail is set at
exclusive, so send me a short message first, so that I can watch for
you and keep you from being deleted. The address is:

Now I'll just have to ask my son to come visit for a day. Should I
warn him why I want him to come? *grin*

Re: Gia's stories

gpietro

I was just writing an introduction to my stories. Then let me know when you
get it, and I'll send the stories afterwards.
Poor your son. How old is he? Does he like UFO??
Any problem then with the stories, don't hesitate to ask.
Thanks in advance for taking the time for reading them...LOL
Hugs,
Gia
