Derek Meddings

Just an FYI.

I saw the original BATMAN movie last night (Michael Keaton) and
noticed during the credits that Derek Meddings did the special effects
and that the film was made at Pinewood Studios.

It's a shame that the movies deteriorated after the first to become
far worse than even the 60's TV series.

Since that means Derek Meddings was alive for the
filming of BATMAN, why wasn't he retained to work on
SPACE:1999 after UFO?

Probably because by that point he was working on
the James Bond movies, which paid a lot more...

By the way, just what all has Derek worked on? Where would you go to find out stuff like that? I know that he did Goldeneye and the New Cape Fear, but where else did he grace us with his magic?

Generally if you want to find out something about someone who
appeared/worked in a TV series/film, a good place to start is the
Internet Movie Data Base. For example, a search on Derek Meddings
brings up the following:
