That's a good point, and I have just remembered that Dinky *did* do a small
run of white interceptors. Highly prized among collectors today I believe.

Dave.

Now that I think about it, the bright colors WOULD
appeal to kids more than white, at least to ones
unfamiliar with the show. Case in point: I'm a 46
year old kid that drives a white car, and hates the
color!

They DID make white ones? The selling price on those
must be insane. Have to watch Ebay for one (but not
to buy).

ACK. you're right. The Eagles were also produced in that hideous
green. Whether kids wouldn't want white toys is debatable. I was
about 12 when UFO aired locally in the USA midwest, and I wanted a
WHITE one. What if Superman wore a white outfit? Would they have
changed it?

Yes, it's a Dinky, too. I got them all together in a
little shop back in the '70's, that's faded into the
mists of Time.

I can't say I've got any in my collection, however, if I remember back to
that era...avacado green and funky orange were en vogue...in EVERYTHING!
So, I'm inclined to believe that perhaps they thought it would be really
chic to do the same thing to these items (perhaps appealing more to the
parents buying them than the children playing with them). Just a thought.
