Thank you, kind sir...I was one of a group of about 4
kids that hung around together since 1st grade, and
all of us could draw superheroes, muscles, shading and
all, from early on, by copying what we saw in print.

I quite agree. Yes, they are in pretty good
condition, considering that I remember clearly playing
with them vigorously, to say the least. Dinky may
have had some weird ideas as to marketing and colour
schemes, but I must say that their products are pretty
darn durable. And I used one of those Interceptors to
get the exact angle to draw that one piece. For the
finer details, I freeze-framed the video of one from
the show, both in flight and on the launch pad.
Also, about the "boys don't like white
toys"-thing...Odd thing is, back in the late
60's/early '70's, my buddies and I thought that *any*
spaceship that was white was very cool (a la "2001:A
Space Odyssey"...the Moonbus, The Discovery, the Space
Pods, etc.), so we painted *all* of our ships flat
white...Eagles, Hawks, and quite a few that we made up
from scratch from other model kits.
