Ed Bishop - AKA - Straker

The passing of Ed has cemented other feelings of loss....
I mourn what could-have should-have been our future on the Moon.
I feel the absence of the "Central Command and Control" that typified
the interactions on UFO.
Knowing a bit about Ed's politics, I'm certain he would not (entirely)
appreciate the depth of loyalty I felt (as a pre-teen) to the heroes of
SHADO !!!

Sadly, the passing of Ed - is a milestone in the loss of my own youth.

My family was going through a crisis of major proportions with family
members almost dying in a car crash and having to move to another province,
etc - UFO for me was an escape from all the awful realities of life as it
was in 1971. I still have the autographed colour photos sent me of Ed and
Mike back then through the mail and when I asked Mike via e-mail if he
recalled signing photos for fans and were the signatures real, he responded
that he and Ed really did sign those pictures years ago altho they had no
idea who they were going out to. UFO was more than just a TV show and the
actors and actresses will forever remain in our hearts....
