Hey gang,
I caught the tail end of a movie on the Movie PLEX cable channel a couple of days ago, called .. The War Lover. It starred Steve McQueen as a B-17 pilot , but I also saw our Ed in it too. He played an RAF Col. named Vogt. I didn't get to see the whole movie so I don't know how big a roll Ed had in it. Did anyone else see it? It was filmed at Sheperton Studios. Tiger |

Hi Tiger and all I have that movie on NTSC Video. Ed looks real cute as always! His part is fairly important in this and has at least 3 scenes if I remember right. How ever for those of you like me who find Robert Wagner stomach churning and Steve McQueen's acting non exisistant the film is a duffer! Sheila Still UFO Crazy crazy crazy crrraaazzzzy! |

I like ww2 Bomber movies anyway. Especially about the RAF. Having Ed in it makes it that much better. Tiger |

Although I love any RAF movie, his acting was a bit over the top..Wagner is so so....doesn't do much for me either. I hope to get a copy of it soon.. Maybe the cable channel will run it again? Although I love any RAF movie, Yeah I enjoy war films especially wons with old aircraft. I will keep an eye out over here for you as our TV guide lists all the films alphabetically at the front of the guide. Thus making it easy to spot an Ed movie with the help of Marc's detailed filmography. Sheila Still UFO Crazy crazy crazy crrraaazzzzy! > > Tiger > > > > |

My guide does too, but I've not gotten around to doing my usuall monthly search yet for August - RL has gotten in the way - perhaps I'll try to get that done tonight. Its just one of the many movie channels. Each week they have a theme and who knows how long it will be before they get back on old WW2 movies again. Maybe I can get this War Lover movie in the store? Amelia says ED has a substantial part in it. At least better than usual. We'll have to get all the Ed movies for our collection. 8-D Tiger <Grrrrrrowl..> |

I used to work with the RAF at the HQQMG in Andover and got to go on a tour of RAF Lynham and RAF Brize Norton. To get to Brize we flew in a Mk II Hercules. What a thrill that was. Suzanne's Gary is a fount of info re aircraft of all sorts and he and I will be going to the Air Show at Middle Wallop near Andover on the 8th September. To keep this on topic ....we will be watching their Flight Path and hoping there is no Destruction...whew that was close! (looks hopefully towards Marc) Tiger asked: Do you have a multiregional VCR? Well we can play NTSC or PAL I will assume that we can record in same modes too but I will check. Sheila Still UFO Crazy crazy crazy crrraaazzzzy! |
