Ed Bishop, William Shatner

Bruce Sherman
reading the thread about Ed Bishops attitude towards fans does remind
me what people say about William Shatner. I am not saying either is
doing something wrong. How many people remember when William Shatner
did a skit on Saturday Night Live concerning a fan convention "Get a
life"? His former actors on Star Trek wrote in thier books "how can
he do that"? One even penned a phrase "Wheres Bill?" At all kinds of
Star Trek events.

William Shatner wrote in his book, Star Trek was a nice job for a
couple of years, it ended, so he moved on. It was just a job. Put
yourself in his shoes, what would you do if someone came running up
to you while eating out asking for autographs and start talking
storylines about something you did over 30 years ago?

Ed Bishop is a actor, who played a part 30 years ago. Again, what
would you do if someone kept asking you about things you did years
ago? I am sure some people get offended very easily if he doesnt
want to talk storylines or interupt his dinner to sign autographs
constantly. What do you expect him to talk about? His reasoning not
to put his son above the protection of the planet against aliens
in "Matter of Priorities" :)

Yes, but some fans just don't get it and they never will.
