Ed Bishop as PAUL STAR

It will no doubt be a surprise to
many on this board to find out that
Captain Blue was not the first
puppet character to be voiced by Ed
Bishop. PAUL STAR was a Roberta
Leigh pilot made in 1964 and the
titular character was voiced by Ed.
The series was never made-like most
of her pilots-and clearly looks to
have been influnced by STINGRAY.
It's included on the recent Network
DVD release of Roberta's SPACE
PATROL[clearly influenced by
FIREBALL XL5] as an extra, and
unlike the SPACE PATROL episodes,
looks to have been restored.
Incidentally, another Roberta pilot,
included as an extra, is THE
SOLARNAUTS. Many people have
described this as Roberta's rip-off
of UFO, but this is simply not
possible as it was produced in
1967.It, also, looks lovingly
restored. Top marks to Network DVD
