What is the current state of affairs with the original Straker's car?
(and Foster's car?)

A while ago I heard of plans by someome to convert some sort of
ordinary car into a car like Straker's but road-legal and with doors
that work properly. What happened to that idea?

UFO at Amazon

Andrew Stampalia
In reply to this post by High Cotton
Hi everyone,

I'm another one of those members that joined the group long ago but hasn't
really had much input into the group mainly because I haven't seen an
episode probably for 15years or so. I'm really looking forward to seeing
the complete series again in it's revitalised format.

Just out of interest is anyone in the group planning on ordering from
Amazon. If so, to save each other some money, being already an Amazon
member, I can refer non-members to Amazon and in doing so gaining each of us
a 5 pound discount voucher. I an about to order a copy next week anyway,
but if anyone is interested email me and I will send one your way.

I figure if we are all going to but a copy anyway, we might as well try to
get it as cheap as possible. Saved me a little bit when I ordered my
Thunderbirds box set, paid for postage.

Later,
Andrew Stampalia.
(another bloody aussie)

I believe I have an old issue of Sci Fi Fantasy Modeler with a detailed article on both Strakers old car and Foster. Both were in the hands of collectors. There were a lot of photos in the article including current ones. Fosters car looked in bad shape, weathered and stored in an outdoor car shed. I will see if I can find the article if anyone is interested. the material may be dated and the vehicles may be in new hands now. Gordon.
