Hi Marc,

I'd just like to pass on my thanks to everyone on the SHADO group who has
bought The Complete Book of Gerry Anderson's UFO. The retailers very much
underestimated what the demand for this book would be, and so I'm delighted
to be able to tell you that the first print run has already sold out (after
only one month!) and a second print run is already underway in order that
retailers can have more stock in time for Christmas.

The reviews and other feedback that I've received about the book so far have
been overwhelmingly positive, and it looks as though the future of the Gerry
Anderson 'Complete Book' line is secure for at least another couple of
volumes.

Kind regards,
Chris

I have found two oops-es in this book:-
page 75 near top: "re-establishment of the ancient kingdoms of
Wessex, Mercia, Danelaw, and Northumberland for administrative
porposes". This is likely to explain "Wessex" in the letter address
seen once in UFO: but in Viking times all of Northumbria and part of
Mercia were parts of the Danelaw. Check in a history of Anglo-Saxon
England.

page 81 middle: says that the SHADO Moonmobiles travelled by the
hovercraft principle. But I don't see a hovercraft fan casing in the
picture, and a hovercraft would not work on the airless Moon. The
aothor should have written merely that it hovers by a vertical rocket
blast. But I seem to remember a craft like that somewhere travelling
on the Moon not by rocket but by kangaroo-type repeated jumping on
its legs.

I think that would be in the Captain Scarlet series. They must have liked the design so much that they decided to keep a version of it for UFO.
