Hi all,
Yesterday I went on a "Like" frenzy on Facebook, and I noticed that the most popular page for UFO in the "TV Show" category has a rather dull photo of the word "UFO" with a black background: http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/UFO/113253672018405 So I thought it would be nice to create a better page that has a better photo. So I created a new page, cut & paste some text from my UFO FAQ, added a photo of Lt. Ellis, linked to my UFO Series Home Page... instant UFO page! http://www.facebook.com/pages/UFO/169314393116137 Now, what would be the best photo to use? Lt. Ellis? Straker? Whatever it is, it'd need to look good as a tiny 100x100 pixel photo, and also as a 180 x 540 (maximum) page photo. I wasn't planning on making this a discussion group or anything -- just something that people could "Like", that would show up in their list of favorite TV shows. And something that looks more interesting than the white text on a black background. Marc |
Hi Marc,
I think that photo is perfect! The purple wigs were so UFO-centric and I've never seen them anywhere else just like that, so that this will be absolutely recognizable in whatever size. And Ellis is lovely ;-) Cheers An --- Marc Martin <[hidden email]> schrieb am Sa, 19.2.2011: Von: Marc Martin <[hidden email]> Betreff: [SHADO] Facebook: "Like" UFO An: [hidden email] Datum: Samstag, 19. Did the same 'like' thing last night, although it was disapointing at least UFO had something ! By a mile, I think Gabrielle in that purple Moonbase wig is the coolest, most singularly iconic UFO image anyone could possibly use. (And that's a GREAT photo along those lines.) Yay!

When you made that UFO facebook page, how did you get it listed as a TV show? I've tried creating a page for an author and a film, but can't make them show up as such - they are just 'community pages' ... As for photo suggestions, well, you know I'm partial to Foster in the sauna <grrrrwwwwwlllll>, but that purple wig is pretty iconic, so you should probably stick with that. Y |

Oh, thanks! I went back and edited mine - it is all different than when
I first created those pages. Does it cost anything to advertise your page? I [LIKE] your page and unliked the other UFO page - your image is infinitely nicer than the other and you have lots better info. Lets see how long it takes to surpass that other page's numbers ... Although it does have 8,000 "Likes", so it may be awhile before mine gets close to that! Marc |
