Last year sometime I mention I had recieved a reply from the the thent
editor of Femme Fatales magazine about there interesting in doing a article on
the female cast members of UFO. We time came and went and nothing happened.
This was due to the fact that shortly after my discussion with the FF editor
the Publisher of Femme Fatales and Cinefantastique magazines died and the
family sold the business. The new owner Mark Altman former editor Sci-Fi Universe
and now film maker replaced the editor I had the favorable contact with and
that killed the article and or interviews.
However I made a comment about about a item in a issue of FF a few
months ago and the magazine printed it in the July/August issue out now. Here it
is:
OVERLOOKED NO MORE
I was pleasantly surprised to find the nice article on Jenny Agutter in the
new issue of Femme Fatales (FF 12.1). She has been a favorite of mine and I
feel she has been overlooked. Besides Jenny Agutter, a host of other British
actresses have been overlooked: Catherine Schell, Zienia Merton, Yasuko Nagazmi,
Nyree Dawn Porter, Sue Lloyd, Alexandra Bastedo, Glynis Barber Rosemary
Nichols, Annette Andre and last, but by no means least, the whole female cast of
UFO: Gabrielle Drake, Wanda Ventham, Dolores Mantez, Antonia Ellis, Georgina
Moon, Ayshea Brough, Anouska Hempel, Norma Ronald, and Suzanne Neve. The male
UFO cast members-
Ed Bishop, Michael Billington and George Sewell - have all been interviewed
over the years about their work in this classic series, but not a single one of
the actresses have ever been interviewed. Isn't it time they were?

Here is the magazines reply:
High time indeed. Exec editor Jeff Bond is on the case even as I type this...
So we will see what happens this time.
