Along with all the expressions of sympaths I have got today I also had
another message from Lisa Coduto of Femme Fatales magazine. She states possitively that they have a writer assigned to interview Sylvia Anderson. James K. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |
Ran across this tonight, I have to say it's a pretty impressive custom.
I wish I could see the other UFO based ones that he did. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1766101241 |
I tried to see if I could locate a photo of this item and altho I went
through all 14 pages on eBay for this figure, I couldn't see it - did I miss it? Hi James: thanks for the photo of the Straker toy - I have to agree with
you. It doesn't look a thing like him and the dark coloration of the face is awful. Pam > http://www.foreignmego.com/auctions/auc31.jpg > > I have to say with all humility, I don't quite share Jim's > opinion that it's 'impressive' .. :P |

Well I still have to say that I think the artist did a pretty decent
job. Anyone have pictures of any better customs I would love to see them. Just looked at figure, and you are right is does look like Star Trek. Wonder
if who ever designed figure ever saw a picture of Straker. It does not even come close to a resemberlance, no Nehru. Elaine [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |
While I appreciate all the negativity that is flaoting here, I still
like the looks of the figure, as compared to all the major toy company UFO figures. And I am waiting for someone to post a pic of a better custom. -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] Sent: Tuesday, September 10, 2002 7:51 PM To: [hidden email] Subject: Re: [SHADO] Look what is happening over in Ebay land Just looked at figure, and you are right is does look like Star Trek. Oh, hey, I didn't mean to be negative! I mean, I sure as heck couldn't
make an action figure. My first thought was "okay, there's the David Soul figure, now where's Paul Michael Glaser?" I also don't think anyone was trying to be overly negative, it just looks kind of funny to some. I will give credit to the person who's auctioning it trying to something that others seem to not want to bother with. For those interested here is a shot of the Alien in Progress.
http;//www.foreignmego.com/auctions/alien.jpg and for those interested the outfit on my Straker is not a trek outfit, but I am currently working on one of his suits and Paul fosters flight suit. Also, I do more obscure sci fi characters at http://www.geocities.com/loganmego --- In SHADO@y..., "Jim Durdan" <jdurdan@f...> wrote: > Ran across this tonight, I have to say it's a pretty impressive custom. > I wish I could see the other UFO based ones that he did. > > http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1766101241 |

If the figure proved popular I was going to commission a custom sculpt and a Nehru version. I later decided that I want one so I'm just going ahead and doing it. As for Paul, I am planning to do either that Silver Moon suit or maybe an Interceptor pilot outfit with helmet. decisions decisions. It's weird but I knew I had to do that open chest look with him. > > > Also, I do more obscure sci fi characters at > > http://www.geocities.com/loganmego > > Logan's Run, huh? Although I never thought of Gregory Harrison like that :) My friend sculpts toys for a living, he also does movie FX, if anyone saw "Terminal Invasion" on the weekend (Sci Fi chanenel movie) He did that alien. I currently have a Space 1999 Maya custom on ebay and then Sean and I are going to do a tiny run of a personal favourite, The Prisoner. >Heh I never thought of it, yeah >I don't see Prisoner fans as huge toybuffs Hey, I'm a fan of the series and I wouldn't mind a really nice figure of Number 6. Also, let me add to the praise for the LOGAN'S RUN figures. Those really look good.
