Well.. just finished the last episode...
Funny how after all these years I can still remember certain scenes
and actors, although I am more intrigued by the number of actors who
are doing quite well today...
Tom Oliver who plays Lou Carpenter in Neighbours played a doctor in a
couple of episodes.
Steven Berkoff played an interceptor pilot in a few of them..
and the list goes on...
Just wondering if they made a new film, with all the improvements in
special effects and computer graphics... would it take away the
ambience.. you know what I mean.. something would be missing,
something that only Gerry Anderson could give..
I haven't seen the Thunderbirds film, but heard it's pretty bad.. and
doesn't do the original concept justice.. maybe it's a puppet thing,
and UFO would be different.. Possibly a more up to date or futuristic
timescale... lets imagine Shado is still going strong.. everything
back then looked futuristic.. even by today's standard, so it would
probably have to be set 20 or thirty years from now..
There would be different characters by then anyway, but the basic
concept of UFO, SID, Moonbase, Interceptor, Skydiver, Shado mobile
would still work.. the UFO's could be different, as could the SHADO
vehicles, but still keeping to the classic UFO theme.. or should they
be as close to the original as possible?
Space 1999 was completely different for me, and not what I would call
an updated UFO.
