AS an 'oldie' I get confused by acronyms all the time.. especially LOL which used to mean Lots of Love, but seems to mean Loads of Laughs now. and ROTFL is just plain weird! I'll stick with TANSTAAFL!

Wrong! - The apostrophe is not needed - it is not used to indicate
ownership, as there is no need to distinguish it from a plural form. The apostrophe is needed in the case of 'Herbert's' for example, to distinguish it from 'Herberts' (as in more than one Herbert).
