My instincts tell me that if intelligent life exists on other planets capable of
space travel, then they must have evolved bodies at least similar to ours, with hands that can build machines. It wouldn't be much use if they had flippers, regardless of how intelligent they were. I am aware that life throughout the universe will almost certainly be extremely diverse; but so is life on our planet. There aren't many similarities between us, earwigs, elephants, cats and dolphins! The point I am trying to make is that life forms on other planets would need to be humanoid in order to be successful - and I mean "successful" in the sense of building aircraft, submarines, scyscrapers, spacecraft etc. A dolphin is perfectly successful in its own environment, of course, but that isn't the definition of the word I'm referring to. I opted for the earlier opinion that the UFO aliens were plundering for body parts (and I added whatever natural resources they could cabbage - i.e. minerals, et al). I've placed around 35 fanfic stories on the Library using that premise. However, I would not be adversed to seeing a really well done fanfic using the other POV. I think the idea of some other type of life form using humanoids for hosts could be posited. maybe it would even make the aliens and their mission on earth even more of an enigma. Any takers? i would assume that sometime in the past those aliens started out humanoid, or completely different. but what was the disaster that turned them into light rays or machine bound intelligences, using people as hosts?
and if there were none at all and they simply use humans as those wasps use other insects to host them and use them as slaves, then what kind of life forms are they? i really like the insane ghosts trapped in machines idea. jim --- On Thu, 2/10/11, Ed Top <[hidden email]> wrote: From: Ed Top <[hidden email]> Subject: Fw: [SHADO] Re: ufo ALIENS and what they are To: [hidden email] Date: Thursday, February 10, 2011, 4:22 AM My instincts tell me that if intelligent life exists on other planets capable of space travel, then they must have evolved bodies at least similar to ours, with hands that can build machines.
