Hi Marc
Reading the SHADO Groups list yesterday, I noticed that the episode Ordeal was
being discussed.
(I think you've now moved onto "The Responsiiliy Seat").
Regarding the episode ORDEAL.
Several of the Group members put forward suggestions as to why the Beatles
track "GET BACK" was used during the party scene in the episode, all of which
might be valid.
I for one did not know that Michael Billington knew George Harrison, as pointed
out by one of your subscribers.
However, it may be that timing was a simple factor in the equation.
ORDEAL was filmed from August 8th - August 20th, 1969.
The Beatles track "GET BACK" had just spent 17 WEEKS in the UK Pop Charts and
was No. 1 for 6 WEEKS just before the episode was filmed.
(and indeed was 12 WEEKS in the US Pop Charts and 5 WEEKS at No 1 also at the
same time).
