Wales isn`t in England: It is its own country as part of the UK. It`s a

It is a bit of a problem for me when most of the events featuring
UFO cast members occur in countries that I know virtually nothing
about! I mean, I've only been in the UK for 3 days in my entire
life (and 1 of those days was at Heathrow airport in London, and
the other two were at a Fanderson convention in Birmingham).

A lot more like saying The Ukraine is in Russia. Which, in the days of
the USSR, we used to do.

More like saying the Ukraine is in Moldova. I don't think that people
use 'England' as a shorthand for Britain, or the United Kingdom in the
way that we used to use Russia for the Soviet Union. I hope not
anyway! :D

I well remember working in my last firm's New York office in September
2000, and hearing an American colleague telling a friend that she'd
been invited to a wedding in "Wales, England!"

But I had hoped it was an abberation, an unusual mistake .. :-/
