Gary Myers, living or dead?

Hi All,
 
Just popped back after a long absence (great to see how lively this group still is!) and was curious about the status of actor Gary Myers. (aka Captain Waterman, and the original "Milk Tray Man")

I had heard rumours back in 2000 or so that he was seriously ill with a brain tumour and even a few reports that he had died. So far I have not been able to verify any of these, however.

Anyone know the status (and/or whereabouts) of Mr. Myers?
(so few of the original cast is left now)
