I've just discovered that six German UFO DVDs will be sold at amazon.de: http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/search-handle-form/028-9188190- 7780517 It seems that these are the ones which were sold at eBay because they've got the same titles and the same duration (75 min). For example: http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/tg/stores/detail/-/dvd- de/B0001JZOGU/tech-info/ref=ed_tec_dp_1/028-9188190-7780517 They will also be sold as a box set: http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0001JZOGK/qid=1078265040/sr=1- 2/ref=sr_1_0_2/028-9188190-7780517 Christian |

Sometimes it happens that a bootleg smuggles into amazon. After all, they've got a huge amount of DVDs and CDs and they can't always check which is a fake or not. Some years ago I bought a CD which in the end was obviously a bootleg; I told amazon and they removed it. Christian |

Hi,
I've been away on biz... Which UFO episode are we discussing at the moment? Best to all, Griff |

>Hi,
>I've been away on biz... >Which UFO episode are we discussing at the moment? I've been very bad at keeping our UFO episode discussions going -- I think the last episode we discussed was TIMELASH, but that was way back in December! We really should finish off this round -- the next episode to discuss is MINDBENDER. If anyone has any comments about MINDBENDER, please make them within the next 2 weeks! That should give you plenty of time to rewatch the episode (if necessary). Marc |
When the first two victims - Conroy and Beaver - of the mindbender are hallucinating, they are in situations of conflict with what they perceive as threats. But when Straker hallucinates that he is in fact an actor in a movie studio, he doesn't seem to be in any sort of conflict. We see events from his point of view, but not, as in the previous instances, from other people's perspectives. When Straker comes out of his hallucination, it is madeclear that he went on a rampage similar to Timelash, but I can't accept that, as we didn't see in the "real world" people being flung about.
That's just a thought that occurs to me, what say you? It's like "the forces" are trivializing his lifes crisis's and mocking him. Dave H. |

Also, more than that, he's forced to relive emotional trauma, and perhaps in the waking world that struggle became a physical one with him destroying equipment. Amelia Oops! I stand corrected on those points - a slight lapse of memory on my part there. But the point I was trying to make was that when Conroy and Beaver are having their hallucinations, not only do we see it from their point of view, but briefly from other perspctives. When Conroy punches out what he sees as a Mexican bandit, we see a very quick insert shot of Nina Barry hitting the floor. We never saw anyone reacting to Straker going beserk - but then it wouldn't have looked so good as we see him confused by what's going on. Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
