Subject: Favourite episodes and why?

Hi everyone,
I am new to the SHADO group and have just today received my full set
of UFO on DVD (but haven't watched it yet!). I was born in 1964 and
can therefore remember the show from my childhood with very fond
memories.

I am looking forward to the shows and will probably just view them
sequentially - but would be interested to know what other people
consider their favourite/least favourite episodes and why. I tend to
prefer episodes in all my 1960s/early 70s favourites (The Champions,
R&H deceased, Avengers, Persuaders, Dept S) which are not so studio
bound but have some location shooting. Which of the UFO episodes
best meet this criterion please?
Regards.
Tanner.

WELCOME, TANNER!

My fave is probably still Timelash because of the scruffy Straker. It
has it's time travel type problems, but hey, a disheveled Straker is
worth it.

My least fave is Cat With Ten Lives because of the horrible way that
beautiful cat is treated.

As for location eps of UFO .... gosh, I dunno. I don't think there are
really any that are REALLY on location, are there? Maybe The Long Sleep
which also has Straker driving a really nice Mustang.

Hi, Osvaldo! Welcome! You need to post your work to the files section,
as attachments are stripped from posts to this group.

Subject: SHADO 9th Year Anniversary!

Hi all,

While pondering my policy towards list attachments, I just noticed that
SHADO just had an anniversary -- we are now 9 years old!

Of course, Yahoo Groups hasn't been around for 9 years, but this list
was once on a different server and called "FAB-UFO". I started this
list way back on August 27, 1994. "Ancient history" in Internet
terms. I never had any idea that we'd still be here discussing the
show 9 years later! I just thought (at the time) that it was a shame
that there was virtually nothing about UFO on the Internet. My, how
times have changed... :-)

Hmmmm, I wonder when I first joined? UFO was being shown on SciFi and I
was using my college computer center cuz I didn't have a puter of my own
yet. I was brand new to UFO and the internet and you were all so nice
and helpful. I quite often laughed outloud in the computer lab,
eliciting many irritated stares. <giggle>

I wrote to that address 3 times and all 3 of my letters were returned to
me
unopened marked 'Return To Sender'. Thankfully I've met Ed quite a few
times since then and got loads of things signed :o)

Cheers,

By the way, what's the status on that UFO comic #0 that was supposed
to come out back in May?

Last I heard, it's release was pushed back to August, but that has come
and gone too, so ..... no word from Kez in a while. <shrug>

PSYCHOBOMBS

I didn't especially like this one, but it does have that wonderful scene
of Straker being tossed across the car like a rag doll and then Dr.
Jackson telling him, "Unfortunately, you will live, Commander." <giggle>
Some great lines in this one. :)
