Harlington Straker Studios

Lightcudder-2
Help! Information required please! Is there any mention, or proof, in the actual TV series that the Studios were suppose to run at a loss? I know its mentioned in the novel by Richard Miall (and i have both of the books!! Lucky me - i am now frantically searching for Ed Bishop's autograph that is somewhere in my mother's house!)
According to Century 21, Harlington Straker was a division of the Harlington company - specialising in Communications and satellites.
Any help gratefully received!
many thanks, Louise

Re: Harlington Straker Studios

Griff
I may be wrong, but I believe the ONLY mention about the Harlington-Strakerfilm studios running at a loss (or encouraged to), "There is no way to account a profit in military estimates" is from the novel "UFO" by John Burke (aka Robert Miall). I do that 'Robert Burke' wrote the two novels in close collaboration with Tony Barwick, and they were both 'signed off' by Gerry Anderson...

Hope this helps,

Griff

Liquid Ventilation

MARY VERES

I'm just finishing up the new Dan Brown book "The Lost Symbol" and had to chuckle where there is a section on the use of Liquid Ventilation-- or breathing oxygenated liquid. Of course my mind jumped immediately to green liquid, red suits and pasty alien eyes! Not exactly the picture the author anticipated I'm sure. I won't post a spoiler just in case some of you are also a Dan Brown fan and have yet to read his new book.

Funny how much the techno-geeky stuff in UFO actually had some good basis in fact years later!

Mary

Also that horrible movie "mission to mars" or something, of some years ago,it had in the final scene the astronaut entering in a martian spaceship which then was filled by a liquid he could breath
