Hello!

Robin

I'm rather new to the group and live in Connecticut, USA. Was an
original fan of the show, but until the DVDs came out here didn't
remember a lot about the series.(What surprised me the most after all
the years was the smoking and work place drinking! Didn't remember that
from my youth!) Please let me know of any conventions in the states
with appearances by any of the cast. Thanks! Robin

Re: Hello!

Phil-3
Phil, and I'm in Long Island New York for those of you asking for New York fans.

Sylvia Anderson is booked as a guest of the Earthbound 2005 convention in Tampa Florida this summer. I hear from the convention organizers that this may be the last Space 1999 convention they run.

Sylvia of course was very involved with UFO but the convention is a Space 1999 one so the rest of the guests and focus of the convention is on Space 1999. The positive thing is these 1999 conventions tend to be small giving the attendees pretty good access to the guests. We had a great time chatting with Nick Tate and Barry Morse in 2001.

Occasionally a Gerry Anderson guest will go to a Chiller Theater show in New Jersey. I've seen Shane Rimmer there and voice of Captain Scarlet (Forget his name right now) The bad thing about Chiller shows and shows like chiller is that they are huge autograph flea markets without much time to talk to the guests.

There's a Chiller show coming up in April, no Gerry Anderson guests yet and there's a Comic Book show in NYC this weekend with one of the guest stars on a Space 1999 episode.

The URL for the Earthbound convention is:

Since you are in Connecticut look for conventions through New Jersey, New York and Massachusetts. There are a lot of media shows in these states and sometimes they do get Anderson guests. Although, sadly none of the main stars of UFO have been to a convention on the East Coast but the guest stars have made appearances.

I live nearby in Massachussetts - Western part of the state and like
Phil said, there are shows all around but alas, no UFO guests to speak
of.
