Hi Yall

Hi Everybody....



My name is Dave. I've just signed on to this list
a few weeks
ago. I am a big UFO fan. I was on this list about two years ago
but
had to leave for awhile.
I was a fan ever
since I was a kid, but hadn't seen it since
it aired in upstate New York in
1972. Up until I got on the
internet two years ago, I thought I was the only
UFO fan in the
world. One of the first things I typed into a search engine
was
"UFO Gerry Anderson" and it brought me to Marc's website. Back
then
Marc was good enough to hook me up with some tapes and I've
since
gotten the adult perspective on the show.

It looks different as a grown up than as a kid. You see all
it's flaws and
weaknesses in plot and science for one, but you also
see other aspects of
relations and behaviors that escaped you as a
7 year
old.
Overall, I think the show withstood the test of
time. It was
one of the first serious and gritty science fiction series to
be
aired on television, unlike the other silly and annoying tripe of
the
era. Most sci-fi of the time was cheap and shoddy, at least in
my humble
opinion, but UFO was quality stuff, and I was addicted
from the
start.
Just thought I'd give a shout out to you all.
Maybe once in a
while even throw in my opinions on stuff. Long live the
show....
